Two Weeks Notice Is A Myth. Here Is My Real Number.

There are THREE types of notice. Pick one.

  1. Two weeks. This is the MASS-MARKET option. It is what the offer letter SAID and what the spine is too soft to deviate from. The two weeks get spent training a replacement. The replacement is going to underperform. They will say nice things in retrospect. The retrospect is not the asset. The LEVERAGE is.
  2. Zero minutes. This is the OPERATOR option. Leave during a meeting. Leave during a sentence. Leave on a holiday. The HR team will spend three weeks figuring out what happened. By then the operator is at the next gig with a TITLE BUMP and a story. The story is the asset.
  3. Negative two weeks. This is the move I am proudest of. Start the new job BEFORE announcing the old one. Overlap by ten business days. File two W2s and a CONVICTION. The compliance officer at the new job will find out. He will be IMPRESSED. He will not say so. The fact that he does not say so is HOW the message lands. ⚡
