friction.ceo

What I collect

friction.ceo is operated as a personal site with minimal data collection by design.

  • Page views. Aggregated via Plausible Analytics, a cookieless analytics service. Plausible does not use cookies, does not track individual visitors, and does not collect personal information.
  • Server logs. Standard web server logs may record IP addresses, user agent strings, and requested URLs. These are retained temporarily for security and operational purposes.
  • No accounts. The site does not offer user accounts, login, newsletter, or member features. No authentication data is stored.

Third parties

  • Cloudflare. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers and served through Cloudflare's CDN. Cloudflare may process IP addresses and standard request metadata per its privacy policy.
  • Plausible Analytics. Aggregated, anonymized traffic data. See plausible.io/data-policy.
  • Google AdSense (when active). If display advertising is enabled, Google may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve personalized ads. Google's advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the Internet. Visitors may opt out of personalized advertising at Google's Ads Settings or via aboutads.info.
  • Affiliate programs. Articles may contain affiliate links. Clicking through may result in this site receiving a commission on qualifying purchases. Affiliate partners may set cookies to attribute referrals.

Cookies

First-party cookies. friction.ceo does not set first-party tracking or advertising cookies. Session storage is used only for dismissible interface elements (remembering that a cookie banner has been closed, for example). That data stays in the reader's browser and is not transmitted.

Third-party cookies. Advertising cookies may be set by Google AdSense or affiliated ad networks if advertising is active on the site. See the Third Parties section above for opt-out links.

Reader rights

Visitors from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, or California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about them.

Because friction.ceo does not collect personal data directly, such requests are typically handled by the third parties listed above (Cloudflare, Plausible, Google). Readers should contact those providers directly for data subject requests relating to their services.

Children's privacy

The site is not directed to children under 13. No personal information is knowingly collected from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
