friction.ceo

What I collect

friction.ceo is operated as a personal site with minimal data collection by design.

  • Page views. Aggregated via Plausible Analytics, a cookieless analytics service. Plausible does not use cookies, does not track individual visitors, and does not collect personal information.
  • Server logs. Standard web server logs may record IP addresses, user agent strings, and requested URLs. These are retained temporarily for security and operational purposes.
  • No accounts. The site does not offer user accounts, login, newsletter, or member features. No authentication data is stored.

Third parties

  • Cloudflare. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers and served through Cloudflare's CDN. Cloudflare may process IP addresses and standard request metadata per its privacy policy.
  • Plausible Analytics. Aggregated, anonymized traffic data. See plausible.io/data-policy.

That is the whole list. There is no ad network, no affiliate program, and no data broker. Nobody is buying this audience because there is no audience to buy.

Cookies

First-party cookies. friction.ceo does not set first-party tracking or advertising cookies. Session storage is used only for dismissible interface elements (remembering that a cookie banner has been closed, for example). That data stays in the reader's browser and is not transmitted.

Third-party cookies. None. No advertising cookies are set, because there is no advertising. The boxes on this site labeled "Advertisement" are empty placeholders drawn by the site itself. They are a joke. They load nothing and they report nothing.

Reader rights

Visitors from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, or California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about them.

Because friction.ceo does not collect personal data directly, such requests are typically handled by the third parties listed above (Cloudflare and Plausible). Readers should contact those providers directly for data subject requests relating to their services.

Children's privacy

The site is not directed to children under 13. No personal information is knowingly collected from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.

That is all. I have had to type this out and it ruined my morning. 🔥
